After many years experience teaching photography, we realized that the training available in North America has yet to address some photographers’ needs - your needs. Here’s how we help you master new techniques:

Advanced Flash for Pros/Emerging Pros
“It is the worst of lights, it is the best of lights”. As an established or emerging pro, you need to know about Flash. You really need this workshop.
From TTL to light balancing to the use of modern small flash modifiers, we will teach you what you need to know, so you will love flash, instead of hating it. When to use Fong, when to use Honl? Learn iTTL and eTTL and their limitations. Learn the cardinal flash portrait rule. Learn to avoid common errors in real-life situations. And prepare for a few epiphanies!
To give you the choices you need, there are two versions: a three-hour indoors version of this workshop, and a full-day version, where we go over the same theory, but then we take you outdoors and you create great portfolio shots with your newly acquired knowledge.

Advanced Camera Use for Pros/Emerging Pros
You know about photography: we do not need to tell you what aperture is, how to choose the right lens, or what ISO to choose in a given situation. You probably even know Tri-X and Fujicolor. But you are less familiar with the custom menus on your 1Ds Mark III, the flash functions on your 5D MkII, the custom menus on your SB-900, or the focus system on your D3x. Do not worry - we can help. We will put together a custom course for you - from 3 hours to 3 weeks, you will get up to scratch.
Workflow tools
Photographers often spend more time in post production than in shooting their events. Now, with advanced tools like Adobe Lightroom 3.0, you can avoid this and you can achieve more in less time. Experienced Photoshop users will be amazed at how photographer-friendly Lightroom is - once you know its tricks. Michael shows you those tricks: editing, asset management, safe and user-friendly storage techniques: after this 3-hour custom workshop you will be immediately more productive.

For Advanced Amateurs
You have done the consumer-oriented course offered and taught by Michael and his partners elsewhere, and now are ready for more? Then seek no more. We teach many subjects, including:
•Photographing Nudes
•One-to-one review of your photos, using Adobe Lightroom 3.0
•Adobe Lightroom for Photographers
•Adobe Photoshop for Photographers

Nature Walk
Our regular Nature Walks bring it all together for those of you who like to photograph the world around them. On this walk we review and practice all the technical skills you need, and we capture the elements around us, learn how to see and how to capture what you see. Different lenses for different uses: Scenics, animals and foliage. This workshop is held at Mono Cliffs Provincial Park on the Niagara Escarpment. An SLR and a wide lens as well as a long lens are suggested. A monopod is useful, too.

Photographing Nudes
Throughout history, artists have pictured the human form. Nudes are always timeless when tastefully done, especially in black and white, using natural light or simulated natural light. It is easy to photograph a nude model but it is difficult to do it with taste and meaning. Using a professional model, we teach you how to light, how to interact with your model, and how to produce art that takes a fresh look at a subject that will always remain interesting.
